SEEK SALT is a collaborative effort to bring together information on how to live a life more in-tune with our Creator. Modern life is continually pulling us further and further from having a foundation in God, both physically and mentally.
Christians are called to be the ‘Salt of the Earth’. There is a centuries old adage “Worth his salt”, you may have heard this and its roots go back to a day when salt was considered as precious, and also used for wages.
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” Matthew 5:13
Jesus’ seemingly simple statement in Matthew has long mystified readers. What does it actually mean to be the salt of the earth?
To be salt to the earth is to give value. We are here to give, to be of benefit and show a Christlike way of living. When salt loses its saltiness it is then of no value and to be thrown out and trodden on, if we aren’t giving value then we aren’t living up to our God given purpose.
We at SEEK SALT take God’s directive to heart, that we are to be the Salt of the Earth. Although we will stumble and fall short, we remain in a constant pursuit to embody this calling. The information on how to live a full and prosperous life should be given freely, and we intend to give as much of it as we can.
